Period of teaching: Three years after registration as post graduate students for MD course
All the candidates joining the post graduate training programme shall work as full time residents during the period of training , attending not less than 80% of the training during each calender year and will be given full time responsibility , assignments and participation in all facets of the education process. The post graduate students are required to keep record of their clinical, laboratory , operative work etc, counter signed by teacher under whose guidance work was done. During the period of clinical training the post graduate student should maintain regular contact with thesis guide.
During the training for degree to be awarded in clinical disciplines, there shall be proper training in basic medical science related to disciplines concerned. In all post graduate training programme both clinical and basic medical science, emphasis is to be laid on preventive and social aspects and emergency care. Facilities for biopsies, relevant investigations and imaging etc. also will be made available for training purpose.
Thesis/ Dissertation
The thesis / dissertation is compulsory for candidates registered for MD and should include candidate’s own work under a supervisor qualified for the purpose and recognized as a post graduate teacher by the university.
Postgraduate Teaching Details
For postgraduate students (PG’S) we follow the syllabus decided by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Through weekly PG activity programmes the department covers the entire PG syllabus. We also conduct enrichment courses and value added courses for the PG’S to keep them updated with the recent advances and also topics that are not included in the curriculum.
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 50% marks in last 4 & ½ years.
• + 50% marks in either of the Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM)
• The candidate who holds MBBS degree from recognized Medical College and whose has obtained full registration from Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical councils after completing compulsory rotating internship.
• Securing not less than 40% marks in last 4 & ½ Years
• + 40% marks in either of Entrance Test that includes All India PG Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) / PG Entrance Test (PGET) / Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority (KRLM).
• Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get Migration certificate from respective State & Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
• Candidates of minority status should have certificate from appropriate authorities.
