Biochemistry Quiz Competition

Dept of Biochemistry in association with AMBKC has organised a Biochemistry Quiz Competition for 1st MBBS students on 20th April 2018.

Date : 20th April 2018, Friday

Venue : Kadamba Hall (College Auditorium)

Time : 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Report on EPIGNOSIS-3

Department of Biochemistry, Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital ,Bengaluru, organized EPIGNOSIS 3 – A State Level Quiz Competition for 1st year MBBS on 20/04/2018.

The chief guest for the program was Dr. H V Shetty.The programme started with the registration of the student (pre registered and on spot) followed by inauguration. Dr.S.M.R.Usha, Prof and HOD, Department of Biochemistry, welcomed the audience and introduced the dignitaries on the dias namely Chief Guest, Dr. H.V.Shetty, CEO, RRGI, Bangalore, Mr Seetharam C M, Medical director, RRMC&H, Bengaluru, Dr D L Ramachandra, Medical Superintendent, RRMC&H, Bengaluru, Dr.K.M.Govindaraju, Treasurer, AMBKC, Dr.Vivian Samuel & Dr.Ashakiran.S.

Presidential address was followed by lighting of the lamp and the invocation song was sung by Miss. Manasa, final year MBBS student. Mr. Seetharam C. M. felicitate the Chief Guest-Dr. H.V.Shetty.

As a mark of the beginning of the EPIGNOSIS -3 QUIZ competition the Rolling Trophy was unveiled by the Chief Guest-Dr.HV.Shetty. Dr Vivian Samuel-Treasurer, AMBKC briefed about AMBKC and the history of EPIGNOSIS – state level quiz competition. Vote of thanks was given by Dr Priyadarshini K S, Professor of biochemistry.

The quiz started with a preliminary round for all the participants conducted in the ACS auditorium. About 140 teams for more than 25 Colleges wrote the preliminary test. After the preliminary round, 6 semi finalists were selected based on the highest scores and followed by the selection of 3 finalists.

The winners were

1. Ms. Sangeeta D and Ms Shivani M D – Kasturba Medical College –Awarded cash prize of Rs.10,000/- and Rolling Shield

2. Ms Shweta S and Ms Sneha Kashyap – RRMCH, Bangalore- Awarded cash prize of Rs.6,000/-

3. Mr Abhishek S and K.Vishal – Mysore Medical college -Awarded cash prize of Rs.4,000/-

4. The consolation prizes for the three semifinalists Rs.1000/ each was given.

After the quiz competition came to an end both Dr Ashakiran S and Dr.Vivian Samuel were felicitated by Dr.S.M.R.Usha.
