On occasion of “World TB Day” on 24th March the Department of Respiratory Medicine along with Community Medicine has observed the following activities.
On 24/03/2014, Monday a Quiz programme was conducted for to term students. 12teams of 2 in each team participated and 3teams were declared winners at the end of the Quiz competition. The winners were given prizes on the CME clay.
On 26/03/2014, Wednesday a one day CME with THEME of reaching the 3million (TB patients who need health care) was conducted from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Around 131 doctors had registered. The CME was a inaugurated and addressed by Dr. Prabhu Deva N, Special Officer RRMCH. Eminent speakers from WHO consultant Dr. Balaji Naik, Dr. Soma senior TB Specialist, NTI Bangalore, and Dr. C. Nagaraja, Prof and HOD TB and Chest BMC, Bangalore and State Task Force Chairman for implementation of RNTCP.
A panel discussion with above speakers with Prof. and HOD Respiratory Medicine Dr. K.N. Mohan Rao as moderator was conducted in the afternoon on the same day which was lively and highly interactive. Many participated and audiences have highly appreciated the programme.
The patron and management of RRMCH and department of Community Medicine are thanked for co-operating and making the CME a grand success.
