Doctors Day

July 1st is observed as Doctors’ Day in India to honour the legendary physician, Dr.B.C.Roy whose birth & death anniversary falls on the same day. The day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the doctor’s role in our daily lives. It is also a significant day for doctors themselves as it provides them an opportunity to reflect on their career & remind themselves of ethics of medicine.

Being doctors is a stressful job, why shouldn’t doctors also take stress out of their lives and enjoy on the eve of this Doctors Day. As regard Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital has organized various fun events and has received overwhelming responses. Keep your fingers crossed for the latest updations.

Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital wishes all the dedicated doctors a Very Happy Doctors Day.

As the Doctors day approached, as said various fun events were arranged for the doctors prior to the day. Lots of them participated with great enthusiasm. Among these, few events like singing competition, debate and Antakshari were highlighted. The winners were……

1. Singing Competition:
First prize was taken by Dr Shivalinga Swamy.
Second Prize was taken by Dr Shivakumar B. K.
Third Prize was taken by Dr Rajalakshmi S.

Team Dr Hanumanthaiah, Dr Suresh and Dr Pravin G U won the prize.
Dr Hanumanthaiah secured best Debater and Dr Amit was given the 2nd best debater.

Team – (Dr Pramod, Dr Khalid Fayiz and Dr Shiva Kumar B. K). won the First Prize.
Team – (Dr Vani, Dr Anjali and Dr Sowmya Jois) won the Second Prize.
Team – (Dr Sathyamurthy B, Dr Sangeetha S. and Dr Kantar C.) won the Third Prize.

Eventually RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital celebrated Doctor’s Day on 1st of July with adoration and salute. The program started at 2 PM at the college auditorium. All the HODs, faculties and the PG students were present and were very enthusiastic.

Dr. N. V. Prasad, IAS, Managing Director, Public Land Corporation, Karnataka State, the Chief Guest was invited with warm greetings by the management and the staff. He was felicitated. The chief guest went round the hospital and college.

The program started with the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest and a small introduction of the chief guest by Dr. Usha Ramachandra. Further the program proceeded by a small talk on Bharat Ratna Dr. B.C. Roy. The speech was very well received and the actual proceedings began. Senior faculties from various departments were felicitated on the occasion and the prizes were distributed to the doctors who had won in the competitions.
