NABH Patient Safety Committee in colabration with Department of OBG had observed ‘World Patient Safety Day’ on 17th September 2021 at Hospital Lobby. The theme for this year was ‘Safe Maternal and New Born Care” and the slogan was ‘ Act Now to Save and Give Respectful Childbirth’.
As a part of celebration of world patient safety day, 17th SEP 2021, NABH safety Committee in association with Department of OBG conducted a small program at Hospital lobby on 17th SEP 2021 at 10.30 AM.
Dr. Sailakshmi Professor & Head of OBG, spoke about the programme:
The most common direct causes of maternal injury and death are excessive blood loss, infection, high blood pressure, Toxemias of pregnancy, unsafe abortion, and obstructed labour, as well as indirect causes such as anemia, malaria, and heart disease. Most maternal deaths are preventable with timely management by a skilled health professional working in a supportive environment.
In this regard OBG department enacted a skit in the hospital lobby showing the importance of regular and timely antenatal management of pregnant ladies.
Dr. Sahajananda highlighted the importance of pregnant patient safety. Dr. Prakash, Chairperson of safety committee said: Every pregnancy and birth is unique. Addressing inequalities that affect health outcomes, especially sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender, is fundamental to ensuring all women have access to respectful and high-quality maternity care.
Programme concluded with vote of thanks by the postgraduates of OBG department.
