Department of Medical Education Unit has organized a SYMPOSIUM on
Title : Interstitial Lung Disease

Symposium was conducted as a part of integrated teaching program and to mark the importance of Doctor’s day. It was conducted in a hybrid manner. The participants were present offline and online as well, through YouTube Live platform.
The event started at 10:30 am. More than 800 delegates participated in the event.
The program was organized by Medical Education Unit, under the guidance of Dr. Pravin G U (Vice Principal). The program started by wishing all the Doctors ‘A happy doctors day”. A floral tribute was given by Mr. SeethaRam-CEO, Dr. Sathyamurthy-Dean, Dr. Naveen S – Principal, Dr. Praveen Kumar – Medical Superintendent, Dr. Basavaraj Bhandari – Vice principal (Academics) and Dr. Pravin G U – Vice Principal (Administration) to ‘Bharatha Ratna Awardee Dr. B C Roy’, in commemorating his Birthday and memory as National Doctor’s day.
The gathering was addressed by Dean, Dr. Sathyamurthy. He congratulated all the staff for their dedicated work in serving the mankind. He also congratulated MEU for organizing the event and motivated them to keep up the good work.
The scientific session started at 11:00 am, Dr. Vindhya, Dept of Pulmonary Medicine gave the gathering a thought provoking case scenario. She emphasized the importance of basic science correlation to understand the diagnosis and treatment of the case. She invited Dr. Supriya from Dept of Anatomy and Dr. Puneeth from Dept of Physiology to discuss the topic. Both the speakers gave a precise and crisp overview on the topic.
The discussion was continued further by Dr. Swaroop from Dept of Radio diagnosis and Dr. Vamsheedhar from Dept of Pathology. They described in great details about the lab finding and how to differentiate interstitial lung diseases from other similar conditions. The sessions were an intellectual delight and made our concepts more clear.
Finally Dr. Vindhya summarized all the information delivered by various speakers and also discussed about the management of the case. It was emphasized that only a multi disciplinary approach can help us to treat patients completely.
Dr. Shruthi from Dept of Anatomy, Dr. Jamuna from Dept of Physiology, Dr. Jyothi from Dept of Pathology, Dr. Srikar from Dept of Radio diagnosis and Dr. Archana from Dept. of Pulmonary Medicine, moderated the sessions of their respective departments.
The scientific session ended at 12:20pm. The certificates were distributed to the speakers, moderators and co-coordinators. Our respected Medical Superintendent Dr. Praveen Kumar encouraged the whole team for the wonderful event.
The program was co-ordinated by Dr. Parinita from Dept of Pulmonary Medicine and Dr. Priyanka from Dept of Physiology. Technical guidance was provided by Dr. Yogesh from Dept of Physiology. An online feedback was taken on completion of the webinar.
The program concluded with “Vote of thanks” by Dr. Pravin G U at 12:45pm.
