A Guest Lecture was organized by the Department of Surgery by Dr. NS Nagesh, MS, FSGE, Professor & HOD Surgical Gastroenterology, BMCRI on 28/06/2016(Tuesday) at 2:15PM at College Auditorium Bangalore who spoke on : Pancreatitis: Changing paradigms in management
The eminent speaker stressed on the fact that Pancreatitis is one of the commonest disorders in India that a surgeon sees in his practice daily. It has debilitating complications in a large number of patients. He highlighted the pathogenesis of the disease and the evolution of various treatment modalities. Drawing upon his vast experience in this field, he emphasized on the various aspects of investigations and treatment with well accepted international guidelines, and in areas where there remains a lack of consensus, he brought out the divergent views based on extant literature.
He also gave a management algorithm for the junior practitioners in the field. The speaker cleared the air on several doubtful issues during the interactive period that followed his talk.
The lecture was well attended by students and faculty alike. The programme was followed by High Tea.
