World Vitiligo Day is being observed all over the world on 25th of June every year in connection to that Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologist and Leprologist (IADVL) has organised awareness programme throughout India. As a part of this programme the “Vitiligo Rath” will be sent to all places in India. Bangalore Dermatology society in association with IADVL Karnataka branch organised regional “Vitiligo Rath” programme. Regional “Vitiligo Rath” came to RRMCH at 12:00 noon on 26/06/2018. Hon’ble Chairman – RRGI was graceful enough to be present and receive the “Rath”. On this occasion Executive Director, Dean, Medical Director, CEO, Director of PG Studies, Principal, Medical Superintendent, Staff and PG’s from other department, UG’s and public including ambulatory patients were present. Drum beating (Dollu Kunitha) was organised on the occasion.
Dr. Vivekananda, HOD, Dermatology welcomed the gathering. Hon’ble Chairman flagged the arrival of the “Rath”. Dean spoke about Vitiligo. Dr.Umashankar Professor of Dermatology explained about myths. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.Priya, Professor, Dermatology. Post Graduate students from the department of Dermatology performed a skit. Overall a successful awareness programme was organised in the campus.
