Dept of Community Medicine has incorporated Training, Preventive Promotive and Curative Services inclusive of Research Projects.
Dept of Community Medicine
Is being updated as per National Medical Commission to train as per the recent Competency Based Medical Education.
Teaching Faculty of Dept of Community Medicine are competent as per National Medical Commission to train Undergraduates, Post – Graduates and allied Health course Students. In this regard the Dept is updated regarding Practical Classes, Field based Activities, Research Projects, Observation of Important World Health Days, Specialist Health Camps, etc
Recent Research and Academic Activities of Dept of Community Medicine are as follows:
- Covid 19 Vaccination – Covishield Vaccine – Administered to 7000+
– Inclusive of Staff & Students.
- ICMR Project –Effectiveness of BCG Vaccination in reducing Morbidity & Mortality in Elderly Individuals in Covid 19 Hotspots in India
- Staff & PG’s of Community Medicine – Coordinated with BBMP Task Force Surveillance , IEC – Information-Education- Communication & Primary & Secondary Contact Tracing Activities in RajaRajeswari Nagar & Bangarappanagara Government Health Centre – UHTC Field Practice Area
- Counseling & Tele ICU support provided by Junior Doctors under Directorate of Medical Education after Training.
- Participated in State Surveillance Task Force Committee Managing Data Base, Information-Education & Communication
- Discussions held in Ramanagara DC Office on 01/07/2020 & Micro – Plan – Finalized – Zone wise IEC – Information Education Program, Fever Surveillance, ILI & SARI Screening – Zone – wise – PHCs, Monitoring of Patients under Quarantine – by Interns – by Rotation.
- Hospital – Covid 19 Patients – Data – Base Documentation.
- Urban Health Training Centre– Field Practice Area, Channasandra, Uttarahalli Main Road, Bengaluru – Awareness Program for Employees of Indo-America at 2 locations. Urban Health Training Centre – Functioning as Fever Surveillance Centre & Referral center.
- Rapid serological survey to assess the Burden of Covid 19 among Urban Slum Population in Bengaluru City funded by RGUHS.
- Specialist Health Camps Conducted in Bengaluru Urban & Bengaluru Rural Districts in Coordination with Dept of Health & Family Welfare – Govt of Karnataka under RBSK – Rashtriya Bala Swasthya Karyakrama under Mother & Child Health Programme.
- Observation of World Health Days like World TB Day, World AIDS Day, World Breast Feeding Week etc.
