CME on “HIV Care” was organized by Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital, ART Center on 19.10.2022 Wednesday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. The ART Center at RRMCH is functioning since April 2021.
We had three eminent guest speakers: Dr. Darshan, Consultant Physician from GIMS, Bangalore, Mrs. Yashodha Umeshaiah, District Supervisor, KSAPS, Bangalore and Mrs. Lissy C V, State Coordinator, PSE. We also had one HIV positive speaker Mrs. Parvathi. The CME was graced by respected Dean, Dr. Satyamurthy sir; Medical Superintendent, Dr. Praveen Sir; Deputy M.S. Dr. Vivek Sir; Vice Principal, Dr. Basavaraj Bhandari Sir; HOD of Department of General Medicine Dr. Krishna sir; Nodal officer of ART, Dr. Prakash Sir.
Dr. Darshan delivered his talk on National Guidalines on ART care and treatment protocol.
Mr. Yashodha Umeshaiah gave insight about social welfare schemes and social protection schemes for HIV.
Mrs. Lissy C V spoke about the need for private sector engagement in HIV care.
The main highlight of the programme was the talk given by the positive speaker who shared her experience, the challenges the she faced, the hurdles she had to overcome to reach this position of being a part of the Karnataka
Network for People living with HIV (KNP+) where she is educating and motivating many PLHIV to lead a quality life.
Her speech received a standing ovation from all the dignitaries and the audience gathered at the CME.
The overall programme was very interactive and an eye opener for all with respect to HIV Care. The whole ART team of RRMCH did a great job and made this CME a grand success.
