World Zoonoses Day 2022
World Zoonoses Day is marked annually on 6th July to commemorate the first vaccination administered against a zoonotic disease like influenza, ebola and West Nile virus.
World Zoonoses Day was instituted on 6 July 1885 to educate and raise awareness about zoonotic diseases that can transmit from animals to humans. It commemorates French biologist Louis Pasteur, who administered the first dose of the first vaccine against rabies.
On this occasion of World zoonoses day 2022, department of Microbiology had organized a Model making competition for 2nd year MBBS students. Three batches of 10 students was made for model making and presentation.
Presentation was done by the students on respective models.
Batch A: KFD virus.
Batch B: Rabies virus.
Batch C: Monkey pox virus.
The models were judged by the honorable Dean, Dr. Sathya Murthy, Dr. Basavraj Bandari, Vice Principal (Academics) and Dr. Praveen, Medical superintendent, RRMCH followed by certificate and prize distribution.
