A Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on the topic “A Navigation through Jaundice” was conducted on 15th May 2026 at the Department of General Surgery, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital. The session was held in the Kadamba hall from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
This CME was jointly hosted by Department of General surgery, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Pediatrics, OBS & Gynecology.
The faculty, Postgraduate students & Expertise were invited to enrich the knowledge. We had about 400 plus registrations, KMC offered two credit points for the same.The academic sessions were followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and a welcome address delivered by Dr.Uday Muddebihal, who highlighted the significance of collaborative learning and continuous medical education in modern healthcare practice.
The session was delivered by eminent faculties in respective speciality with a diverse academic background their multidisciplinary expertise enriched the session and offered a holistic perspective on the advancing field.

Dr Srinivas– Imaging & Intervention in jaundice

Dr Venkatesh Murthy- Critical window in neonatal jaundice.
The afternoon session featured an engaging panel discussion moderated by Dr Durganna T based on clinical case scenarios. Professors from the Departments of General Surgery, Surgical and Medical Gastroenterology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, General Medicine, and Radiology participated actively, offering diverse perspectives and practical insights into complex jaundice cases. The interactive format encouraged critical thinking and active participation among postgraduate students and attendees.
The session was graced by the presence of beloved Dean, Principal, Medical Superintendent, and HOD’s with faculty members and postgraduate students.
Overall, the CME proved to be an excellent academic initiative and a valuable learning experience for all participants. The program successfully enhanced understanding of jaundice through a multidisciplinary lens and reinforced the importance of teamwork in patient care. The insightful discussions, expert guidance, and case-based learning made the event highly informative, interactive, and enriching for students and faculty alike.
