Anti Leprosy Day

30th January, the Martyrdom Day of our Father of Nation Gandhiji, is celebrated every year as the Anti Leprosy Day all over India to commemorate his selfless efforts and care for the people affected by leprosy. LEPROSY Leprosy continues to be a major community health problem in India. In 2012, more than 2,30,000 new leprosy cases were detected worldwide. Of these, about 1,50,000 were from India. This situation is unfortunate considering that today it is very easy to diagnose and cure leprosy by proper treatment. IADVL, Karnataka Branch Indian association of dermatologist Venerologists and Leprologists, Karnataka Branch is striving to spread awareness about Leprosy among general population, Thereby reducing the spread of leprosy as well as eliminating the stigma associated with leprosy.
