A CME on “INHALED ANAESTHESIA DELIVERY SYSTEMS” was conducted on 20th March 2022 by the department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital.
This was conducted in Kadamba Hall (College Auditorium) from 8:30 am to 06:30 pm. About 215 delegates participated in this event. All CME lectures in the morning were attended by all the registered delegates with a very good interaction with the speakers. The guest speakers were well knowledgeable in the field and the quality of scientific content was deeply appreciated by the delegates and the faculty alike. The speakers covered all topics pertaining to the anaesthesia workstations as mentioned above. The scientific content included evolution of the anesthesia machine over the last 100 years with some of the latest innovations in the field.All the CME lectures were chaired by eminent faculty from all over the state.
There was a brief inauguration ceremony, attended by the Dean, Dr. Sathyamuurthy, Dr. Praveen, Medical Superintendent and Dr. Vivek, Deputy Medical Superintendent. The gathering was welcomed by the Organizing Chairperson and Head of Department of Anesthesia, Dr. Rangalakshmi and Dean delivered a brief message to the audience. This was followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Karthik, Organizing Secretary. The CME offered 2 credit hours by the KMC to the attendees.
In the afternoon session ofhands on workshops, newer anaesthesia workstations with low flow and highly efficient inhaled anaesthesia delivery systems like GE Aysis CS2, Drager Atlan 350 were demonstrated to the delegates.
The speakers tirelessly delivered talks in 4 stations which sparked immense interest amongst the delegates. The discussions continued till 06:30 pm. All examination related queries were suitably addressed. The station on simulation based scenarios taught the delegates practical trouble shooting tips often faced in the day to day usage of the machines. The feedback was positive with suggestions to conduct this CME on a yearly basis.
The above CME once again reiterated the reputation of RRMCH as a centre of academic excellence.
