CME on Robotic Total Knee Replacement

Date: 20th February 2026
Venue: Kadamba Hall (College Auditorium)
Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Title: ROBOTIC TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT

The Department of Orthopaedics at RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital achieved a significant milestone on 20th February 2026 by successfully conducting its first-ever Live Robotic Total Knee Replacement, marking a transformative advancement in precision-driven orthopaedic care.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Rajashekar K. T, Robotic Joint Replacement Specialist and Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon of the institution. The live demonstration highlighted the remarkable capabilities of robotic-assisted technology, including meticulous pre-operative planning, real-time intraoperative guidance, enhanced implant positioning accuracy, and optimized soft tissue balancing.

The academic event received an overwhelming response, with nearly 200 delegates in attendance, comprising eminent orthopaedic surgeons, senior faculty members, postgraduate students, and surgical trainees from across the region. Participants witnessed firsthand how robotic-assisted systems improve surgical precision, enhance limb alignment, minimize variability, and contribute to superior long-term functional outcomes for patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty.

In addition to the live surgery, the program featured expert-led academic sessions focusing on advanced robotic joint replacement techniques, management of complex cases, evolving surgical strategies, and evidence-based practices in knee arthroplasty. These sessions provided valuable insights and enriched the learning experience for all attendees.

This landmark achievement reflects the institution’s unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and the integration of next-generation technology in patient care. By embracing robotic-assisted surgical platforms, the Department of Orthopaedics continues to strengthen its position as a leading center for advanced joint replacement surgery in Karnataka.

The event stands as a proud testament to the institution’s vision of delivering world-class, technology-enabled, and patient-centric orthopaedic care.
