Eye Donation Awareness Program
The 40th Eye Donation Day was commemorated on 4th September 2025 at Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) with great enthusiasm and purpose. The event began at 10:30 AM with an invocation song, followed by the lamp lighting ceremony, signifying the illumination of lives through the noble act of eye donation.
Dr. Nithisha T.M., Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of eye donation in restoring sight and urging the medical community to continue spreading awareness and encouraging donor pledges.
The event’s focal point was the talk delivered by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sharon Dsouza, Consultant at Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore. She presented an informative and thought-provoking session on corneal transplantation, discussing current advancements, clinical challenges, and the essential role of public participation in improving donor availability.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, guests, faculty, students, and organizing team for their contributions in making the event a meaningful success.
