The first Parent Teacher Interaction for 2017-18 MBBS batch will be conducted from 8.1.2018-11.1.2018 at Kadamba Hall. The agenda for the meeting will be to discuss the academic progress and welfare of the students with their parents and inform them regarding the academic and attendance criteria to be fulfilled for eligibility to appear in the RGUHS University examination. The parents were greeted by the receptionist, Ms. Suma. After refreshments she directed them to Kadamba hall to meet the respective mentors. The parents were shown their respective ward’s test & 1st internal assessment marks and attendance particulars in the presence of their ward by the respective mentors. The parents were then taken by respective mentors to the HOD’s they wished to see for further clarification & advice. Emphasis was given on maintaining the academic criteria as well as attendance required to be eligible to appear for RGUHS examination. Counseling and advice were given on an individual basis.Respective HODs explained the parents about the remedial actions taken by the mentors to improve their academic performance. The parents were then thanked for attending and actively participating in the parent – teacher interaction meeting. The feedback given by the parents are as follows – • Parents were happy that the PTI meeting has been conducted. • They were happy that individual student attention was given through mentorship program • They opined that the student counseling and mentorship was excellent. • Teachers are accommodative and encouraging. • Communication to parents about their ward’s progress report and comprehensive personality development were very good. • Parents wanted the departments to conduct two more PTI meetings after 2nd & 3rd Internal assessments also. Follow up Number of parents attending the meeting was documented by the respective mentors. Parents who could not meet the staff on the day of the meeting came on the next day to meet the respective staff members. Students having attendance shortage were warned in their parent’s presence about maintaining required attendance for eligibility for RGUHS examination. Parents who shared grievances pertaining to the transport facilities were direct to meet the Transport Incharge. At the end of the meeting Dr.S.M.R.Usha, Parents- Teacher Committee Chairperson thanked all the parents, HOD’s and mentors of the Pre-clinical Departments for their active participation and cooperation extended during the meeting.
