Health Education & Awareness Program on Vector-Borne Diseases

The Department of Community Medicine at RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH), in collaboration with DHI students, interns, and the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), Channasandra, successfully conducted a Health Education & Awareness Program on Vector-Borne Diseases on 12th June 2025.
The program began at 11:15 AM with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony and focused on educating the local community about mosquito-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, and Chikungunya. Participants learned about symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and treatment options.
Students and interns actively engaged the audience through interactive sessions, emphasizing the importance of personal protection, environmental sanitation, and community participation in mosquito control.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 70 beneficiaries from the local community. The session concluded by 12:00 PM, with refreshments provided by Rotary International Organization and transport arranged by RRMCH.
This initiative reflects RRMCH’s continued commitment to public health awareness and community engagement.
