National Awareness Program – Anaemia Day 2025
The Department of Pediatrics at Rajarajeshwari Medical College, in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), observed National Anaemia Day on 14th February 2025. This special event aimed to raise awareness about anaemia and its impact on children and adolescents.
The program was conducted in the Pediatric Outpatient Department (OPD) and included an insightful session on the importance of understanding anaemia, its causes, and preventive measures, from birth through adolescence. The talk highlighted the significance of early diagnosis and treatment in ensuring the healthy growth of children.
Under the guidance of Dr. Adarsh E, Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics, the event saw active participation from families of children with special needs, along with medical staff and students. The beneficiaries, families, and attendees joined together in reciting the empowering slogan, “BYE BYE ANAEMIA”, reinforcing the collective effort to eliminate anaemia across the nation by 2025.
This initiative was a step toward fostering a healthier future, as we continue to spread awareness and promote proactive health measures for children and adolescents across the country.
