Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) Week 2021

The World Health Organization (WHO) has marked July 29 as World ORS Day to stress on the usage and significance of Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS). Hence, the Department of Pediatrics observed the ORS week from July 23rd-July 31st, 2021. Every year on July 29 ORS Day is celebrated, and this year’s the theme is of world ORS day 2021 is ‘Oral Rehydration, No More Dehydration’, which reinforces the importance of oral rehydration therapy (ORT) as an effective tool in the battle against dehydration and diarrhea, reinforcing the importance of ORS in preventing dehydration in children.
