ACLS, BLS & PALS Training Workshop Held at RRMCH

The Department of Emergency Medicine and the Quality Cell at Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) successfully conducted a comprehensive ACLS, BLS & PALS Training Workshop from 11th to 15th November 2025, in collaboration with IIEMS, Kottayam.

Training Overview

Each session concluded with both theory and practical examinations. Participants who successfully completed the assessments were awarded online AHA-certified completion certificates.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students and hospital staff, reflecting their commitment to advancing life-saving skills. This program is a significant step in strengthening emergency response capabilities at RRMCH and aligns with the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India’s focus on improving training in emergency care and resuscitation.

White Coat Ceremony 2025

A Proud Beginning to the Journey in Medicine

The White Coat Ceremony 2025 for the newly inducted MBBS students of RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH), Bengaluru was held on 12th November 2025 at the Kadamba Auditorium. Organized by the Department of Biochemistry, the ceremony marked a significant milestone as students donned their white coats — a timeless symbol of professionalism, compassion, and commitment to the field of medicine.

The event was gracefully hosted by Dr. Prathibha K. Proceedings began with a serene invocation song by Mrs. K.V. Shwetha followed by the traditional lamp lighting. Dr. Bindu C.M, Head of the Biochemistry Department, delivered the welcome address, setting an inspiring tone for the ceremony.

Dr. Priyadarshini K introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Shekar Patil, renowned Medical Oncologist from HCG Cancer Centre, Bengaluru. His inspiring address emphasized compassion, humility, and professional integrity, leaving a lasting impact on the budding medical professionals.

An insightful overview of the MBBS Foundation Course was presented, highlighting the values, discipline, and skills instilled during the program. This was followed by prize distribution for the winners of the e-Poster and Debate Competitions, celebrating their academic and creative achievements.

Faculty members from various departments of RRMCH took pride in draping the white coats for the students. The ceremony continued with the solemn recitation of the Charaka Shapath, led by Dr. Basavaraj Bandare, signifying the students’ pledge to uphold ethics and service in their medical journey.

Dr. Reena R delivered a warm and appreciative Vote of Thanks.

The ceremony concluded on a memorable note as the Honourable Chairman, Dr. A.C. Shanmugam, graced the photo session and personally interacted with the students, making the day even more special and inspiring.

World Anaesthesia Day 2025

The Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care celebrated World Anaesthesia Day on November 7, 2025, at Kadamba Hall. This year’s theme, “Anaesthesiology in Health Emergencies,” highlighted the crucial role of anaesthesiologists in managing critical and emergency situations in healthcare.

As part of the celebration, a Quiz Competition (prelims and finals) was held on November 3, 2025, in the department seminar hall, drawing enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Karthik G. S., Professor and Head of the Department, followed by an introduction of the Chief Guest, Dr. Vinay Marulasiddappa from BMCRI. The programme began with an invocation song rendered by postgraduate students, setting a graceful tone for the event.

A highlight of the day was an inspirational talk by Dr. Vinay Marulasiddappa on “Anaesthesiology in Health Emergencies.” His address emphasized the evolving responsibilities of anaesthesiologists in disaster response and emergency care.

The programme also included the felicitation of quiz winners and presentation of the Best Outgoing Postgraduate Student Award. The celebration featured a variety of cultural performances, including a skit, reels with podcast, dance, and a lively round of Anthakshari, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of the department’s postgraduate students.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, followed by high tea, marking a successful and memorable celebration of World Anaesthesia Day 2025.

Children’s Day 2025

Children’s Day is celebrated in India to raise awareness about the rights, education, and welfare of children. It is celebrated on 14 November every year on the birthday of the first prime minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru, who was known to have been fond of children.

World Prematurity Day 2025

World Prematurity Day is observed on 17 November each year to raise awareness of preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide. Approximately 15 million babies are born preterm each year, accounting for about one in 10 of all babies born worldwide.

World Pneumonia Day 2025

World Pneumonia Day provides an annual forum for the world in the fight against pneumonia. More than 100 organizations representing the interests of children joined forces as the Global Coalition against Child Pneumonia to hold the first World Pneumonia Day on 12 November 2009.

National Education Day 2025

In 2025, National Education Day falls on Tuesday, November 11. This fixed date commemorates the birth of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, underscoring his lifelong dedication to uplifting the nation through education.

Health Awareness Program on “One Health”

The Department of Community Medicine, RRMCH organized a Health Awareness Program on “One Health” at the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Chunchankuppe on 7th November 2025.

The program aimed to educate the community about the “One Health” concept, emphasizing the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health. Dr. Harsha Gowda, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, coordinated the event.

Interns posted at RHTC actively participated in organizing and conducting the activities. A health awareness rally was carried out through the streets of Chunchankuppe village to disseminate key messages on the importance of One Health.

The villagers actively took part in the event and benefited from the awareness activities. The program concluded successfully, highlighting the collective effort toward promoting community health and well-being.
