Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar Shines at Dubai’s First World Congress on Eustachian Tube Interventions

We are proud to announce that Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar, Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon and Associate Professor, Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery, RRMCH, was recently invited as an esteemed Faculty Member at the 1st World Congress on Eustachian Tube Research and Interventions, held from 11th to 13th April 2025 at the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, Dubai, UAE.
Amongst 35 distinguished Faculty from across the globe, Dr. Dinesh Kumar was one of only four faculty members representing India, marking a significant achievement for the nation and our institution.

At this landmark global congress, Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar delivered an invited lecture on the topic:
“High-Resolution Computed Tomography Study of the Length, Width & Angle of Eustachian Tube in Normal Ear and in Chronic Otitis Media.”
His research presentation was highly appreciated by international peers, and it showcased innovative insights into imaging-based anatomical variations critical to the diagnosis and management of Eustachian tube dysfunction and chronic ear diseases.
The congress brought together leading researchers, clinicians, and innovators, setting a new benchmark for advancements in Eustachian tube science and intervention strategies.

Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar’s participation at this prestigious global platform stands as a testament to his academic excellence, clinical expertise, and commitment to advancing ENT research.

RRMCH Postgraduate Residents Shine at International ENT Conference in Dubai

We are proud to announce that two of our Postgraduate residents from the Department of ENT & Head and Neck Surgery, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH), made their mark at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology, held from 11th to 13th April 2025 in Dubai, UAE.

Dr. Rishab Kumar (2nd Year PG) presented his e-poster titled “Sealing the Gap: Customized Tissue Adhesive Revolutionizing CSF Leak Repairs in ENT Surgeries.”
Dr. Aditya Anthony Arnaldo Fernandes (2nd Year PG) presented his e-poster titled “Bronchoscopic Foreign Body Removal from Right Bronchus.”

Both residents were recognized for their efforts and received an additional 500 AED cash award along with a 30% waiver on their conference registration fees, acknowledging their active participation.
They were guided and accompanied by Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of ENT & Head and Neck Surgery, who also represented India as a Faculty Speaker at the 1st World Congress on Eustachian Tube Research and Interventions during the same period at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City.
This international exposure served as a tremendous learning experience, inspiring young minds and showcasing RRMCH’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in ENT and Head and Neck Surgery.

Congratulations to Ms. Chandrakala C. on Earning Her Ph.D. in Management

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Chandrakala C., Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, has successfully completed her Ph.D. in Management on the, Topic: “Supply Chain Efficiency in Public Healthcare System: A Study in Bengaluru Urban District”
The doctoral degree was awarded by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru, under the guidance of Dr. Rajeswari H., Research Supervisor, Department of Management, Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru.
She was conferred the Ph.D. degree on March 27, 2025, by His Excellency Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot, Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka and Chancellor of KSOU, in the presence of Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her future academic and research endeavors.

Dr. S. Navaneetha Krishnan Shines at International Conference

We are delighted to announce that Dr. S. Navaneetha Krishnan, Final Year Postgraduate from the Department of Pediatrics, has earned a prestigious accolade at the First International Conference on Neo-Hemodynamics 2025, held on April 20, 2025, at Vydehi Medical College and Hospital.

Dr. Navaneetha Krishnan was awarded a Prize in the Award Paper Presentation Category for his groundbreaking research titled: “Early postnatal colour doppler changes of Anterior Cerebral Artery in Neonates receiving delivery room resuscitation.” This study highlights critical insights into cerebral hemodynamics in neonates and emphasizes the importance of early postnatal assessment in improving outcomes for newborns requiring resuscitation.

His achievement is a proud moment for the Department of Pediatrics and reflects the department’s continued commitment to academic excellence and impactful clinical research.

World Kidney Day 2025

Are Your Kidneys OK? Detect Early, Protect Kidney Health

  • 1. World Kidney day 2025 was celebrated on 17/04/2025 in Kadamba Auditorium of RRMCH from 1130 hrs to 1300 hrs. Dr KC Gurudev Director Nephrology and Urology Services of Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital was the chief guest for the occasion. Around 250 including faculty, undergraduates, postgraduates and allied health sciences students attended the event.
  • 2. Programme was proceeded by high tea arranged by the college. Dr MS Prakash Prof and Head Dept of Nephrology gave welcome address. Dr Chirag Gowda final year Medicine resident made a ppt presentation about the history of World Kidney day celebrations, its aims and objectives and eight golden rules to prevent kidney disease.
  • 3. Dr KC Gurudev, chief guest for the occasion delivered his oration about the theme of 2025 WKD. He highlighted the history of Nephrology over last many decades and evolution of Nephrology services in India including dialysis and transplantation. He recounted how over more than three decades, he set up nephrology services in and around Mysore district and the trials and tribulations of being the only Nephrologist in the beginning. He stressed upon the need for being vigilant in professional practices and not to get carried away by success and get discouraged by failures. Dr Gurudev was felicitated by the Dean, Vice Principal and Medical Superintendant. Dr Gurudev felicitated the donor and recipient pair of renal transplants carried out in 2024.
  • 4. The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Divya A the transplant coordinator. The entire conduct and the contents of the programme was appreciated by everybody.

Seizure Awareness Program by the Department of Community Medicine

Date: 17th April 2025 Location: Chunchankuppe Area The Department of Community Medicine at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) organized a community outreach program focused on Seizure Awareness in the Chunchankuppe area on 17th April 2025. As part of this initiative, 3rd Year MBBS students actively participated in raising awareness among the local population. The students visited households across the area, educating residents about the causes, symptoms, and appropriate first aid measures for seizures. To enhance understanding and engagement, students used educational posters and videos, making the sessions both interactive and informative. The program aimed to dispel common myths about seizures and empower the community with life-saving first aid knowledge. The initiative was well-received by the residents, who appreciated the effort taken by the students and faculty to address such an important yet often misunderstood medical condition. This program is part of the department’s continued efforts to promote community health education, bridge the gap between medical knowledge and public awareness, and encourage hands-on learning for future healthcare professionals.
