The much-anticipated Carpediem Odyssey 2025, the inter-batch cultural fest of
RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and grandeur on
May 28th, 2025.
The event commenced under the esteemed presence of
Founder Chancellor Dr. A. C. Shanmugam, President Dr. A.C.S. Arun Kumar, Executive Director Mr. S. Vijayanand, and other dignitaries, whose continued support and encouragement have always been a source of inspiration for the student community.
The highlight of the inauguration was the presence of renowned
Indian singer Vasuki Vaibhav, who officially inaugurated the fest. His presence lit up the event and added a special charm to the morning’s proceedings.
Following the inauguration, the stage came alive with a vibrant bouquet of
cultural performances by students, showcasing their creativity, talent, and infectious energy. Events such as the
Carpediem Pageant, Western Duet,Apparel Design, and Classical Singing set the tone for the days to come and drew enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) Workshop was conducted from
13/5/2025 to 15/05/2025. Each day it
started at 9:00 AM and concluded at 5:00 PM.
A three-day workshop on the
Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) was conducted at the
Medical Education Unit Room, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru. The workshop was organized by the Medical Education Unit of Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital and coordinated by the NMC Regional/Nodal Centre at St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru.
A total of
30 participants, divided into
five groups, actively participated in the sessions over the course of the workshop. The sessions were facilitated by the
Resource Faculty of the Medical Education Unit, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital. The sessions included a mix of interactive lectures, group activities, and discussions, which fostered active engagement and collaborative learning.
Dr. Soumya Umesh, from
St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, attended as an observer and provided valuable feedback and suggestions throughout the workshop.
To maintain engagement and avoid monotony, small fun activities were conducted between sessions. An
online pre-test was administered prior to the start of the workshop and a
post-test was conducted at its conclusion to assess the effectiveness of the program and measure learning outcomes.
The workshop concluded with a
certificate distribution ceremony, marking the successful completion of the program.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on the topic
“Medico-Legal Aspects in ENT” was conducted on
16th May 2025 at the Department of ENT – Head and Neck Surgery, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital. The session was held in the Demo Room from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
The session was delivered by
Dr. Rupali Patil Jain, an eminent medico-legal consultant with a diverse academic background, including MBBS, DORL, DPAA, LL.B, PGDHHM, and PGDMLS. Her multidisciplinary expertise enriched the session and offered a holistic perspective on medico-legal issues relevant to ENT practice.
The session was graced by the presence of
Dr. T.M. Nagaraj, Head of the Department of ENT-HNS; Dr. Praveen Kumar, Medical Superintendent; along with faculty members and postgraduate students.
Dr. Rupali Patil Jain provided an in-depth exploration of the medico-legal responsibilities faced by ENT practitioners. She emphasized the significance of comprehensive pre-operative consent, meticulous documentation, and ethical patient communication. Through illustrative, real-life case discussions, she highlighted common medico-legal pitfalls and provided practical strategies to avoid them.
The session was interactive, insightful, and highly engaging, fostering active participation from attendees. It not only increased awareness of legal safeguards but also reinforced the importance of ethical medical practice.
This CME was especially beneficial for postgraduate students, equipping them with vital legal knowledge and practical tools necessary for a safe, ethical, and successful career in ENT.

World Hand hygiene day 2025 & International Nurses Day- 2025, the
department of Microbiology had organized program in
Kadamba hall on
17/05/2025 from
10:30-01:00pm.The theme of this year is:
“ It might be gloved It’s always hard hygiene”.

Anti-Tobacco Day or World No Tobacco Day is observed on 31 May every year across the globe to make people aware and educate them about the harmful effects of tobacco on health which causes cardiovascular diseases, cancer, tooth decay, staining of teeth etc.
International Day for Biological Diversity is observed on 22 May every year to increase awareness and understanding of the issues of biodiversity.
