On the eve of World Vitiligo Day, Department of Dermatology, Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital conducted skit to spread social awareness emphasizing on the theme United by the skin,a school scenario was done to create the awareness among the school students to not outcast the child with vitiligo, a marriage scenario was done to eradicate the taboo of spreading of Vitiligo to the partners and the future generation. We hadorganized poster competition themed Embracing twin tones and UG Quiz with special emphasis on Vitiligo, conducted by quiz master Dr. Akshay, Asst. Prof, on 24th June 2024.
On World Vitiligo Day, state level CME was organized by our department on recent updates on pathogenesis, medical and surgical management. Sessions were enriched by renowned expert faculties like Dr. PrabhakarSangolli, Dr. Ishwara Bhat, Dr. Nandini AS, Dr.Eswari L and Dr. Harish Prasad. An extensive panel discussion was done by all the faculty. Winners of the competitions were felicitated.
All the postgraduates and faculty of the department took the pledge to provide psychological support with medical care.

By the time Imali Chislett was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, her hair had already been falling out for four months. It came out in clumps as she brushed her fingers through her hair, and when she tried to braid it. Soon, her scalp became sore, too. The illness, which affects the intestines, made it difficult for her to absorb nutrients from the food she was eating and she’d become severely iron deficient, which can cause hair loss. Unfortunately, treatment didn’t restore her strands. Since July 2023, she’s been receiving infusions of a powerful immunosuppressant drug, infliximab , which she says has lessened, but not stopped, her hair loss. She now wears a wig.

On the occasion of International day 26th June 2024 against drug abuse and illicit trafficking Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital organized a Drug awareness programme on 25/06/2024, the program was conducted by Shri. Binod KR Ram, Intelligence officer, Narcotic Control Bureau & team in basement lecture hall (College Block) from 12.00 pm to 1.00 Pm. Shri. Binod KR Ram enumerated what are narcotics and impact of drug abuse.
The event was chaired by Dr. Sathyamurthy. B – Dean, Dr. Basavaraj Bandari – Vice Principal, Dr. Praveen Kumar- Medical Superintendent.
The drug awareness programme was attended by HOD’s, Faculty of various specialities, 3rd and final Year M.B.B.S Students.

It is privileged to share with all that ‘RRMCH women’s throw ball team’ have made us extremely proud by winning the throw ball tournament organized by JSS Medical College.
JSS Medical College had organized a Sports Fest “TATVAM 2024” on 12th, 13th and 14th of June 2024 in which they had organised Throw ball, Cricket, and Chess competitions.
The RRMCH Women’s Throw ball Team won the Throw ball tournament playing against the home team “JSS Medical College” in the finals. There were a total of 9 teams which participated in the throw ball tournament and RRMCH emerged as a winner.
It is great to share with all that our Cultural Dance Team – RRMCH , had participated in group dance competition held at Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College (Bowring Hospital) which had organized a fest “AURELION – 2024”. Among 14 competents our team has manage to grab the second place.
