A faculty development workshop was conducted on 2nd Feb 2024 by
MEU and Curriculum Committe. The program aimed at orienting and sensitizing the faculty of phase III and phase IV for implementation and assessment of CBME. The program started at 9:30am with welcome address by
Mr Mukesh Kumar (Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry). The participants were thought to get familiar with the NMC website and how to search the documents relevant to CBME by
Dr. Leena Ravindra (Professor, Department of Dermatology and MEU Chairperson) and
Dr. Priyanka (Professor, Department of Physiology). This was followed by a session on framing SLO, lesson plan and alignment – integration by
Dr. Shashikala (Professor Department of Pathology).
Dr. Nalini (Professor, Department of Pathology) oriented the participants on AETCOM and essential features of record keeping in teaching diary. The session proceeded with discussion on newer teaching methods by
Dr. Sowmya(Associate Professor, ENT).

Successful live kidney transplantation Surgery – RRMCH,
The first live related donor
kidney transplantation was successfully carried out on
02-02-2024 at RRMCH. Mother donated her left kidney to her son who was suffering from end stage kidney disease. Dr M.S. Prakash and his team of nephrologists, Dr. N. Srinath and his team of Urologists, Dr Rangalakshmi, Dr Karthik and team of Anesthesiologists were involved in the kidney transplant surgery.
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists are among the newer tools in the obesity armamentarium. They reduce energy intake, leading to significant weight loss, with the added benefit of reducing blood glucose concentrations.
At the same time, they present issues regarding sustainability, cost, and adverse effects. In a study of 4,255 GLP-1 medication users conducted by the Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliate Prime Therapeutics, 68% of users discontinued treatment within the first year.

The Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for the
2023-24 batch of
1st MBBS students took place on
January 25, 2024, Thursday. The event was held in the Basement Lecture Hall at RRMCH and commenced promptly at 9:30 am, concluding at 3:30 pm.
Dr. Bharathi D, Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Chairperson of the PTM committee, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The proceedings began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and an invocation.
Dr. Sathyamurthy B, the Dean of RRMCH, delivered the inaugural speech.
