Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital had the privilege to host Dr. Sharad Kumar Agrawal, the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), for delivering a guest lecture on “IMA – The Saviour”. The lecture was attended by students and faculty members, as well as other esteemed guests Dr. Shivakumar Lakkol (State IMA President), Dr. Venkatachalapathy (Joint Secretary of IMA), and Dr. Karunakar (State Joint Secretary of IMA). The college administrative staff, including Dean – Dr. Sathyamurthy and Medical Superintendent Dr. Praveen Kumar, also attended the lecture.

An awareness campaign was organized by Department of Community Medicine, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital to educate people on prevention of Hypertension. Campaign was conducted on 20th June 2023 in Rural Health Training Centre Chunchunakuppe.
The campaign was coordinated by Dr. Vidusha, Mr. Venkatesh, Mrs. Kamala, Mrs. Swetha and also Final year Students from Physiotherapy College. Posters were prepared by students to educate people.
House to house survey on Diabetes and Hypertension was done along with health education by Final year Physiotherapy students. Health education was given on aspects of risk factors of Diabetes and Hypertension, prevention, dietary measures for control of these non-communicable diseases.
Mrs. Chandra Kala – Assistant Professor and Dr. Karavadi Vidusha – Associate Professor, Dept of Community Medicine Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bengaluru delivered guest lectures on Research Process & Demographic Indicators and Current Challenges & Opportunities of Public Health respectively in a three day workshop on “Innovative Practices in Community Health Education” which was organised by State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Bengaluru on 15th June 2023.
On the occasion of World Environment Day a health awareness rally was organized by Department of Community Medicine on 13th June 2023 in Doddaladamara, Chunchunkuppe.
Dr. Shyam, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, RRMCH and Dr. Vidusha, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicne, RRMCH coordinated the activities along with field staffs, Post graduates, and interns who took part in the rally including the 6th term MBBS students and staff from RHTC chunchunkuppe.
The rally commenced with raising slogans against plastic use and the posters prepared by students were also displayed to the public. The program was successful.
New Justice Party founder Dr A C Shanmugham participated in the rally organized to celebrate the nine years of BJP’s successful Government at the centre and shared the stage with the Union Home Minister Shri. Amit Shah during the event conducted at Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Dr. ACS also felicitated Shri Shah with a mace and presented a Silver Sceptre (Sengol) to the Union Home Minister on the occasion.
RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital has conducted Blood Donation camp in our Blood Bank, on the occasion of World Blood Donors day on 14th June 2023.
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on thanking blood donors and highlights the dimension of “sharing” and “connection” between blood donors an patients. In addition, we have adopted the slogan “Share life, give blood”,
