Parent Teacher Interaction for 2016-17 MBBS batch
The Parent Teacher Interaction for 2016-17 MBBS batch will be conducted on 2.3.2017 at Kadamba Hall. The agenda for the meeting will be to discuss the academic progress and welfare of the students with their parents and inform them regarding the academic and attendance criteria to be fulfilled for eligibility to appear in the RGUHS University examination.
Morning Session-Venue -Kadamba Auditorium, Time-10 am.
Dr.H.V.Shetty, Dean, Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital, welcomed the parents on behalf of the management, administrators and teaching staff of the Pre-clinical departments he emphasized the importance of calling the PTI meeting and explained the importance of the following agenda in detail.
He explained in detail the specific academic requirements and attendance required in theory and practical to appear for RGUHS examinations as per the rules of RGUHS. He explained about the internal assessment examinations that will be conducted in theory & practicals during the course of study and emphasized that all students should appear for all the examinations.
After this, the HODs of Pre-clinical departments addressed the gathering individuals, where they again stressed on the importance of attendance & Internal Marks.
Feedbacks given by the parents are as follows.
i. Parents were happy that PTI meeting has been conducted early in the academic Year.
ii. They were happy that attention was given on individual student basis through mentorship program.
iii. Students counseling and mentorship is excellent.
iv. Teachers were accommodative and encouraging.
v. Progress communication to parents and comprehensive personality development are very good.
vi. There should be a single point of contact to know about the progress of the wards (ie) College mentorship as against departmental mentors.
vii. Parents wanted the department to conduct 2 more PTI after 2nd & 3rd Internal Assessment also.
viii. Parent wanted the institution to communicate to them repeating PTI rather than mentors.
All the three Pre-clinical departments HOD’s and all the mentors were present during the meeting. Mentors and HOD’s also explained about the attendance and internal assessment marks and their importance during the meeting.
Afternoon session-Venue –Individual departments, Time-1:30pm.
Parents were directed to the individual departments where they interacted with HODs along with the respective subject mentors of their wards. HODs explained to them about the remedial action taken to improve their academic performance and emphasized the importance of performing well in Internal Assessment examination.
Follow up
Number of parents attending the meeting was documented. Few parents who could not attend the meeting came the next day and met the respective staff members. The grievances shared by the parents were looked into personally by the respective mentors.
At the end of the meeting Dr.S.M.R.Usha, Parents- Teacher Committee Chairperson thanked all the parents, HOD’s and mentors of the Pre-clinical Departments for their active participation and cooperation extended during the meeting.
