World Hypertension Day – 2023

Theme: Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control it, Live Longer. Hypertension is one of the leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease in India. The Latest data in India shows that presently the prevalence in urban areas is 33.8% and in rural areas, it is 27.6% with an overall prevalence of 29.8%. Over 75% Indians with hypertension have uncontrolled Blood Pressure. Topic 1: Resistant Hypertension Diagnosis & Management Speaker: Dr.Rishab Senior Resident Department of Cardiology Dr.Rishab spoke on the causes of resistant hypertension, the various investigations to be done and the management issues were discussed. Topic 2: Renovascular Hypertension. Speaker: Dr.Mahesh Prasad Associate Professor of Nephrology Dr.Mahesh Prasad spoke on the pathogenesis of renovascular hypertension, clinical diagnosis and the management of renovascular hypertension.
