World No Tobacco Day 2019

World “No Tobacco” Day is observed on 31st May worldwide every year. An awareness campaign was organised by Department of Community Medicine to educate people about the harmful effects of tobacco.Campaign was conducted on 12th June 2019 in a government school Doddaladamara at Rural Health Training Centre, Chunchunakuppe. The campaign was coordinated by Dr Shyam AC,Dr K.Vidusha,Mr Ramesh and the field staff of RHTC Chunchunakuppe. Health education was given to the 8th,9th and 10th standard students. Interns addressed the students on the types of tobacco,the negative impact that tobacco has on people’s lung health, from cancer to chronic respiratory disease. Students were educated regarding the risks posed by tobacco smoking and second-hand smoke exposure
