World Obesity Day – 2022

Department of Paediatrics, RRMCH observed “World Obesity day” on 14/03/2022 for children and their caretakers in the paediatric OPD, Rajarajeshwari medical college. Total of 15 Paediatricians, 25 paediatric post graduates, nearly 30 children with their caretakers attended the programme from 11am to 1pm and got benefited from the obesity awareness program. Dr Adarsh E, Professor & HOD, Paediatric Department welcomed the gathering, this was followed by a talk on “Etiologic and complications of paediatric obesity” by Dr Sowjanya GT, Paediatric Endocrinologist. Ms Usha P, Dietician, gave a wonderful talk on “Healthy dietary habits and lifestyle” which was followed by talk on “Psychological aspects of obese children” by Ms Latha Kumari C, Child psychologist. Dr Adarsh E gave a descriptive talk on “Dietary habits” which was followed by valediction. Caretakers and children were given exhausting knowledge regarding the importance of this year’s theme, “Obesity- Everybody needs to Act”. This awareness program has helped in reinforcement of children and caretakers attitude towards lifestyle modification.
