World Thalassemia Day – 2021, Department of Pediatrics

Department of Pediatrics World Thalassemia Day- May 8th
The Department of Paediatrics, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital conducted “World Thalassemia Day” On may 8th under the guidance and support of our beloved HOD Dr. Adarsh .E who is also the E C Member of IAP 2021.
Rajarajeswari Medical College And Hospital at present is a full covid hospital. But with the support from our management of RRMCH and under the guidance of our HOD we started Day care centre for the needy people like Thalassemia and other haemolytic anemias where we are giving blood transfusion at regular intervals during this pandemic, along with routine investigations, counselling and educating the parents about the condition and how to deal with the condition during this pandemic of COVID 19.
Other conditions like Nephrotic syndrome, cerebral palsy, cardiac diseases, High risk baby care, Endocrine condition all are dealt at our Day care centre.
Also there was webinar conducted on how to deal with Thalassemia during this pandemic which was attended by UGs, PGs, Nurses, Staff of Department of Paediatrics and Department of Blood Bank.
