World Vitiligo Day 2019

World Vitiligo Day is being observed all over the world on 25th of June every year in connection to that Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologist and Leprologist (IADVL) has organised awareness programme throughout India. As a part of this programme the “Vitiligo Rath” will be sent to all places in India. Bangalore Dermatology society in association with IADVL Karnataka branch organised regional “Vitiligo Rath” programme. Regional “Vitiligo Rath” came to RRMCH at 3:00 noon on 25/06/2019. On this occasion Executive Director, Dean, Medical Director, CEO, Director of PG Studies, Principal, Medical Superintendent, Staff and PG’s from other department, UG’s and public including ambulatory patients were present. Drum beating (Dollu Kunitha) was organised on the occasion. As a part of this program we had a public awareness program on vitiligo which included welcoming of vitiligo Ratha (IADVL–KARNATAKA INITIATIVE) by Dollu Kunitha. This was followed by welcome address by Dr. Belliappa P R, HOD Dermatology & Dr. Satyamurthy. B, Dean RRMCH. Then the street play was performed on vitiligo for public awareness which was well attended & appreciated by general public. Finally Dr. Priya, Professor of Dermatology gave an insight on facts & treatment of vitiligo. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Priya, Professor, Dermatology. Overall a successful awareness programme was organized in the campus.
