“ Doctors need to serve Rural Karnataka as there is a dearth of medical facilities “
10th South Zone and 32nd Karnataka State Annual ENT Conference 2014 is being held at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore. More than 600 delegates across India and reputed International Faculties are taking part in this prestigious conference. The conference was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sri. U.T. Khader, in the presence of Executive Director Mr. S. Vijayanand, Dr. M.B. Bharathi President AOI South Zone, office Bearers of AOI Karnataka, Organsing Chairman Dr. Nagaraj, Organising Secretary Dr. Praveen Kumar and other dignitaries.
The Minsiter was welcomed with the traditional welcome folk dance “ Dollu Kunitha “ . The air reverberated with the sound of the drums and the everyone was spell bounded. Mr. Khader was then taken to the dias and he inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp. Addressing on the occasion, the Executive Director Mr. Vijayanand stressed on the importance of medical research and also expressed the confidence that conferences help to exchange expertise and experience. After releasing the souvenir of the conference, the chief guest minister Sri. U T Khader, speaking urged the medical fraternity to stress on the preventive action. He also said that many of the commonly occurring diseases can be easily treated and all that requires is timely diagnosis and treatment. He urged the medical professionals to serve Rural Karnataka as there is a severe shortage of facilities and doctors. After the inaugural functions, series of cultural programs followed.
