Inauguration of Rotary Bangalore-ICICI Prudential–Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital Dialysis unit
Rotary Bangalore in collaboration with Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital has donated five Dialysis units to the hospital, the inaugural event being held on 27/6/11. The funds for the same were enabled through a loan procured from ICICI prudential bank. The five dialysis units will cater to the healthcare needs of nephropathy patients, from rural areas around the hospital. This project was conceptualized by Rotary Bangalore to benefit the poor and needy patients, as each dialysis procedure costs a large amount of money in other healthcare set-ups. At RRMCH, only the consumables are charged and thus the procedure is conducted at a nominal sum. The initial six beneficiaries underwent the procedure free of cost, courtesy of the funds from Rotary Bangalore. Also, some amount from the corpus is reserved for unaffordable patients such that the interest derived from the same could be used for their consumable expenditure in the future.
