National Organ Donation Day
“National organ donation day” was celebrated on 03 August 2024 at RRMCH. A CME on Organ donation was conducted on 03 August 2024 from 11.30 am to 01.30 pm by the Department of Urology in coordination with Department of Neurology. Dr N Srinath, HOD, Urology spoke about the importance of organ donation. The guest lecture Dr. Chethan C.M., Hepato Biliary surgeon, Gleneagles BGS hospital, gave a speech about Brain death & Deceased organ donation. Dr. Anil Kumar BT, Director Nephrology, Gleneagles BGS hospital, gave a lecture on marginal kidneys in Deceased organ donor.
Voluntary kidney donors who had donated their kidneys to their near ones for transplantation at RRMCH were honoured. A Poster competition on “organ Donation- Hope of life” Was organised and Best three posters were given Prizes. 200 Doctors Medical students participated in the program. All the attendees took a pledge to donate their organs after death.
