Outstanding Achievements at APCSICON 2026 – Dr. Lakshmi Spandana Potluri

Pleased to share with you the remarkable achievements of Dr. Lakshmi Spandana Potluri, Final-Year DM Cardiology Resident, at the APCSICON 2026, held in Tirupati from 25th to 27th September 2026, which was attended by over 400 cardiologists from across South India.

Dr. Spandana had the distinction of being awarded the prestigious Dr. G. Subrahmanyam Gold Medal for Best Postgraduate Research in Cardiology, along with the First Prize in the Award Paper Presentation for her research work titled:

“The Strain Before the Signs – An Early Window into Coronary Artery Disease”

Her study confirms the potential of non-invasive imaging done on OPD basis as means of identifying early myocardial abnormalities before significant obstructive coronary artery disease becomes evident on conventional coronary angiography, highlighting an important avenue for earlier detection of coronary disease.

Among approximately 50–55 abstracts submitted for presentation, only six were shortlisted for the final presentation on the main arena on 26th September 2026. Dr. Spandana’s research stood out among the shortlisted presentations, earning her the Gold Medal and First Prize, and receiving appreciation from several eminent cardiologists attending the conference.

Adding yet another achievement to this memorable conference, Dr. Spandana’s team also secured First Place in the Cardiology Quiz, emerging as the winning team from among 16 participating teams.

These accomplishments represent not only academic excellence and a strong commitment to cardiovascular research, but also her dedication to learning, clinical cardiology, and academic pursuits. Her achievements at APCSICON 2026 are a wonderful recognition of her hard work and perseverance as a young cardiologist and researcher.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to Dr. Lakshmi Spandana Potluri on these outstanding accomplishments and wish her continued success in her academic, research, and clinical journey.
