Identification of TMEM151A Gene Variants Linked to PKD in Indian Patients

We are pleased to share with all that , through ICMR-funded research project, Central Research Lab, RRMCH have been identified that “TMEM151A gene variants as a genetic cause of Paroxysmal Kines genic Dyskinesia (PKD) in Indian patients”. To their knowledge, this is the first genetic report of TMEM151A mutations linked to PKD in the Indian population.

This landmark study has been published in the journal Parkinsonism & Related Disorders (Impact Factor: 3.4).

The Principal Investigator is Dr. S. Prabhakara, Professor and Head, Department of Genetics and Central Research Lab, RRMCH, Bangalore.

15th Graduation Day Celebration 2025

On 14th September 2025, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital proudly celebrated its 15th Graduation Day at the ACS Convention Centre, located within the campus.
The event was led by the Founder Chancellor, Dr. A.C. Shanmugam, and attended by a host of esteemed dignitaries including President A.C.S. Arun Kumar, Managing Trustee Smt. Lalitha Lakshmi, Executive Director Dr. S. Vijayanand, CEO Sri C.N. Seetharam, Dean Dr. B. Sathyamurthy, Advisor Dr. S. Naveen, Principal Dr. Basavaraj Bhandare, Medical Superintendent Dr. Praveen Kumar, among other respected guests.
The occasion was further graced by the presence of the Honourable Union Minister of State, Sri V. Somanna, Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Jal Shakti, who served as the Chief Guest.
All Under Graduates, Postgraduates and Super Specialty Students are cordially invited and make the function a Grand Success.
