Department of Pediatrics observed “Children`s Day 2024” at Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital on November 14th (Thursday) at 5th Floor, Hospital Building. The program was inaugurated by the Medical Superintendent Dr. Preveen Kumar and also Dr. Adarsh E, HOD – Department of Pediatrics, RRMCH, which was followed by cultural events by Nursing college students, Post Graduate and Interns of Department Pediatrics, students from Bala ashrama and our special children from Neuro developmental center RRMCH with children from pediatric ward as well. The program was led by Dr Adarsh E HOD and Central IAP Member. And program was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Dr.Sushmitha the Beneficiaries are Special children, Children from Bala Ashrama, Parents, Postgraduates, Interns, and children from pediatric ward.

State level quiz competition for Post Graduate was conducted by the Department of Pulmonary Medicine under the aegis of National College of Chest Physicians on 28 October 2024, 20 postgraduate’s from various parts of Karnataka participated in the quiz. The session started by a guest lecture by Dr. Suma – Senior Consultant, Excel Care Hospital, Bangalore and followed by a lecture for Post Graduate students on inhaler technique by Dr. Nivedha, Senior Resident, Department of Pulmonary Medicine RRMCH.
Dr. Archana B HOD, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, RRMCH was the quiz master. There was preliminary quiz conducted followed by main quiz where in 8 participants qualified for eligibility rounds and out of which 4 participants qualified for the final round. Out of which the winner & runner up will be attending NAPCON- national level quiz for the post graduates which will be conducted on Coimbatore on 25th November 2024.

Karnataka Formation Day is celebrated as ‘Rajyothsava’ day. This celebration marks the birth of Karnataka state, on 1st November 1956 by way of merger of Kannada speaking regions of South India. Karnataka Rajyothsava is a public holiday. RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital also celebrated “Kannada Rajyothsava” on this day by hosting the Karnataka flag in the Campus and distributing sweets to all.
Medical education in India demands a multidimensional approach, developing interpersonal skills and empathy across hospital, clinic, and community settings. The undergraduate programme aims to shape the “Indian Medical Graduate” (IMG) into a compassionate first responder with globally relevant expertise and values. Aligned with the objectives of National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, the Foundation Course timetable was meticulously prepared and submitted to the Curriculum Committee at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH).
The Department of Physiology, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) co-ordinated an 80-hour Foundation Course from 14th to 26th October 2024 for the incoming 2024-25 MBBS batch, guided by the NMC’s new 2024 CBME revised guidelines. Held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, the course offered students a comprehensive introduction to medical education, professionalism, and healthcare systems.
The students of 1st MBBS Phase –I, 2024-25 batch took cadaveric oath at Department of Anatomy on 29th October 2024 at 2.00pm. The cadaveric oath ceremony is a formal pledge that medical students take prior to their work with cadavers in the dissection hall. This oath expresses gratitude to the donors and their families, and reinforces the commitment to treating the cadavers with respect and dignity.
We are proud to share with all that Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital, recently attended ILLUMINATE 2024 – A National Conference on Innovations and Translational Research, funded by SERB, Government of India. The conference was held on 22nd and 23rd October 2024 at ACS Medical College and Hospital, organized by AMRI, Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Maduravoyal, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Rajendran Dinesh Kumar presented in both the paper and poster categories, titled “Cost-Effective Innovation: Custom Tissue Adhesive in CSF Leak Repairs in ENT Surgeries,” and was awarded 1st place in the paper presentation, received cash prize of ₹5000, a certificate, and a medal. Additionally, secured 2nd place in the poster presentation, along with a ₹3000 cash prize, certificate, and medal. This recognition marks a prestigious achievement among peers in the fields of innovation and research.
