Awareness Program on the Occasion of 39th Eye Donation Fortnight

Eye donation fortnight awareness program was conducted from 25th August 2024 to 8th September 2024 organized by the Department of Ophthalmology, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore.
On 4th September 2024, Final day of the fortnight, a grand event was celebrated at RRMCH organized by dept. of ophthalmology, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore. Event went on from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Honorable dignitaries were invited to the dais. There was invocation song to seek the blessings of lord Ganesha followed by Lamp Lighting. Dr. Kaushal Kumar, HOD & professor, Dept of Ophthalmology started the program by giving insights on eye donation while Dr. Nithisha T M gave eloquent welcome address. CEO Sri C N Seetharam and Dean Dr. B Sathyamurthy addressed the audience.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Vinay R Murthy Medical Director and head of Cornea and refractive surgery at Prabha Eye Clinic was felicitated and he gave an educational speech, Anterion – anterior segment clinical applications. Dr. Nanda L gave a speech on vital work done by RajaRajeswari eye bank. This was followed by energetic dance performances, educational presentations, skits, musical performances and prize distribution for all winners who had participated in the events that were conducted. Mementos were awarded as a token of appreciation to NGO’s to honor their support towards this program. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks encouraging people to pledge their eyes & create awareness regarding eye donation.
Many cultural events were conducted for MBBS, DOT students & Optometry on 1st & 2nd Sep 2024 such as face painting, creative writing, poster making, quiz & Pictionary, to create awareness on the importance of eye donation.

Under the hostage of Unicef, Divecha center for climate change, Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Rajarajeswari Medical College at the prestigious JN TATA Auditorium in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, the conference provided a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange among pediatricians, child psychologists, educators, and healthcare professionals.

National Neonatology Forum PG Quiz

Date: 08th Sep 2024 Time: 09:00AM – 02:00PM Venue: Kadamba Hall The Department of Pediatrics, RRMCH conducted “26th National Neonatology Divisonal round Quiz” at Rajarajeswari Medical College. Around 11 teams from various parts of south Bangalore involving Pediatric postgraduates participated in the quiz. NNF Quiz Divisional round was coordinated by Dr. Adarsh E Professor and HOD, Department of Pediatrics, RRMCH. There was initially preliminary round followed by main round of quiz wherein 6 teams qualified for the final round. The winning team will be attending the Zonal round at St Johns Hospital. Dr Sahana Devadas, Dr Sahana Manjunath and Dr Nirmal kumar were the Quiz experts, Dr. Venkatesh Murthy was the quiz master. Dr Sundari and Dr Harika from Baptist Hospital won the Quiz.

Ganesh Pooja – 2024

This festival is celebrated following the Hindu Mythology which says that Ganesh Chaturthi is the birthday of the Lord Ganesha. Hindus refer to Lord Ganesha as the remover of all obstacles. People believe that Lord Ganesha comes every year with prosperity and success. The festival is celebrated in the Bhadra month as per the Hindu calendar which generally falls in mid-August to September. Ganesha is known as the God of wealth, sciences, knowledge, wisdom and prosperity, and that’s why most Hindus remember him and seek his blessings. This festival is celebrated with great devotion and joy by Hindus throughout the world. In India, it is majorly celebrated in states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana. RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi in a very grand scale. All the student were stunning with their ethnic attire. Management, Teaching and Non Teaching staff also participated in the gala. The puja was done with a sacred form and prasada was distributed to the entire participants present. Continued with few cultural programs like dance pertaining to the lord and holy songs. The program was folded with a great devotion.
