Seizure Awareness Program by the Department of Community Medicine
Date: 17th April 2025
Location: Chunchankuppe Area
The Department of Community Medicine at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) organized a community outreach program focused on Seizure Awareness in the Chunchankuppe area on 17th April 2025.
As part of this initiative, 3rd Year MBBS students actively participated in raising awareness among the local population. The students visited households across the area, educating residents about the causes, symptoms, and appropriate first aid measures for seizures.
To enhance understanding and engagement, students used educational posters and videos, making the sessions both interactive and informative. The program aimed to dispel common myths about seizures and empower the community with life-saving first aid knowledge.
The initiative was well-received by the residents, who appreciated the effort taken by the students and faculty to address such an important yet often misunderstood medical condition.
This program is part of the department’s continued efforts to promote community health education, bridge the gap between medical knowledge and public awareness, and encourage hands-on learning for future healthcare professionals.
