National Semi Final Quiz

The Department of Pediatrics, RRMCH has organized a National level quiz for UG students.

Program started by welcome speech by the Dean Dr Sathymurthy, Vice principal Dr Basavaraj Bandare and by the HOD Dr Adarsh E., Pediatrics.
Totally 5 teams were selected for semi finale round from different Medical Colllges across India.
1st team – Pushpagiri Medical College
2ND team – Belgam Institute Of Medical Sciences
3rd team – Calicut Medical College
4th team – Pudukottai Medical College
5th team – Madurai Medical College
The quiz was conducted with 6 rounds for all the teams.
The winners of this quiz competition were PUSHPAGIRI MEDICAL COLLEGE. This team entered finals.

World Diabetes Day 1

World Diabetes Day at K. R. Halli, RHTC

A health education program to observe World Diabetes Day was conducted in K. R. Halli, RHTC on 30th November 2024. The topic for health education was this year’s theme i.e. “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps”. Beneficiaries included elderly residing in K. R. Halli. The program was conducted by Department of Community Medicine, RRMCH in association with Rotary Cantonment Organization. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr.Shashikala Manjunatha, HOD, and Department of Community Medicine by Dr.Aishwarya S. (Assosiate Professor cum I/C, RHTC, Dept. of Community Medicine) and staff of RHTC.
The Program started at 11:00 am.Health education on Diabetes was explainedwith the skit and posters by Interns. Post Graduate students actively participated though out the program and the Health Education session concluded successfully by 12:30 pm. A total of 30 beneficiaries participated. Refreshments were arranged by Rotary Cantonment Organization. Transport was arranged by RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital.

AESTHETIC DERMATOLOGY UPDATE 2024, State level live demo workshop from basics to advanced treatments was conducted by Department of Dermatology, RRMCH in association with Bangalore Dermatology Society on 15/12/2024, led by Dr. Belliappa PR (Organizing Chairman) and Dr. Priya KS (Organizing Secretary), inaugurated by Dr S Sacchidanand, Former VC RGUHS. Sessions started with Surface anatomy on cadaver demonstrated by Dr. Yogitha R from St.JMC, Dr. Shruthi B N and Dr. Akshay Samagani moderated the session. Renowned national faculties Dr. Gulhima Arora and Dr. Sachin Verma conducted the rest of the sessions. More than 150 delegates attended this workshop from different parts of the country.

Report On Health Education Program

World Diabetes Day was observed on 14th November 2024. Ahealtheducation program on Diabetes Mellitus on occasion of World Diabetes Daywas conducted at CHUNCHANAGUPPEon 19thand 20thNOVEMBER 2024. The beneficiaries were people of Chunchanaguppe area and people visiting Rural Health and Training Centre, RRMCH. The programme was conducted by Dept.of Community Medicine in and was organized by Dr. Shashikala Manjunatha (Head of Department), Dr.Harsha Gowda J K. (Assistant Professor and I/C Chunchanaguppe, RHTC) and interns of the department of Community medicine along with.
  • On 19/11/2024, people visiting RHTC were invited to gather together and health education on Diabetes was given to them at the Centre.
  • On 20/11/2024, field campaign was done. Interns visited major public places, public gatherings and few houses and educated people about Diabetes.
  • Health education materials like placards, charts were prepared and displayed while giving health education speech.
  • The risk factors, symptoms, complications, diagnosis and measures to prevent and control of Diabetes were explained to people.
  • Doubts of the beneficiaries were addressed.
  • The event was completed successfully.

Children’s Day – 2024

Department of Pediatrics observed “Children`s Day 2024” at Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital on November 14th (Thursday) at 5th Floor, Hospital Building. The program was inaugurated by the Medical Superintendent Dr. Preveen Kumar and also Dr. Adarsh E, HOD – Department of Pediatrics, RRMCH, which was followed by cultural events by Nursing college students, Post Graduate and Interns of Department Pediatrics, students from Bala ashrama and our special children from Neuro developmental center RRMCH with children from pediatric ward as well. The program was led by Dr Adarsh E HOD and Central IAP Member. And program was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Dr.Sushmitha the Beneficiaries are Special children, Children from Bala Ashrama, Parents, Postgraduates, Interns, and children from pediatric ward.
