RRMCH Doctor an expert and a good Samaritan!!

We are proud to share that Dr Anagaha M V, Dept of Anesthesia – RRMCH has made us swell with pride by treating an emergency patient on the road who had lost her breath in reviving her back to life.

A 65 year old lady while doing evening walking around 8:00 pm had collapsed on the road. A few people around walking on the road noticed that she had collapsed and screeched for help. At that time Dr. Anagha M. V. our Anesthesia specialist, pain specialist and skills lab in charge was alerted by his neighbor. Immediately he and his wife Dr.Uthra (Gynecologist) whose house was nearby ran on to the road and found the lady did not have pulse or breathing.

Immediately they both started CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and gave mouth breathing taking turns while waiting for ambulance. Since the ambulance was taking time to arrive, they both decided to shift the patient in the victim’s car while they continued CPR in the car. Within 10 min they reached nearby hospital, in the emergency room, patient was connected to defibrillator and DC shock was given as it was necessary, subsequently the emergency team took over.

It’s a proud moment to all of us that the lady has survived and is getting discharged soon. Dr Anagha is a American Heart association certified BLS and ACLS provider and his acquaintance and immediate action has helped in saving a person’s life.   WhatsApp Image 2024-03-05 at 3.18.41 PM

Right to Defend Oneself

Self defense can be of many kinds. Basically it is a counter measure to an attack on one’s person, an act of defending oneself. Self-defense is not restricted to personal safety, it could include your household, property, family members etc. The ‘right to defend oneself’ is established by legal jurisdictions in many regions but the interpretation of the ‘use of force in times of danger’ varies widely. The use of physical force to counter a personal attack or an attack of violence can be classified in two ways – armed and unarmed. The chances of warding off an attack depends on many factors, but is largely related to the extent of severity of the attack and the mental ability and physical skill of the person warding off the attack. There are a wide range of self defense techniques – both armed and unarmed. While the armed category obviously uses weapons and firearms as protective measures and requires the person using such arms to have the skills and be in conformity with legal regulations, the unarmed category is the most widely used form of self defense. On the occasion of observing “International Women’s Day – 2024” , RRMCH Cultural Committee had organized a Self Defense Program by Mrs. Asta Agarwal – Founder Director of AsthazSelfDefense Academy for all our RRMCH Women staff on 11.03.2024.
