Severe pain in stomach: Treatment of a case of Chronic pancreatitis in RRMCH
A 45 year old middle aged patient came to surgery OPD with severe pain abdomen on and off for the past few months. After thorough evaluation including blood tests and radiological imaging, she was found to be suffering from chronic pancreatitis with Pseudocyst of pancreas. Patient was then referred to Dr. Anagha M.V, Asst Prof, Department of Anesthesia, RRMCH who is a pain specialist. Patient was planned to undergo celiac plexus block. The patient was taken to operation theatre and under C arm guidance she was given 100 percent alcohol into nerve to relieve the pain. Following the procedure, patient was relieved of pain totally and was very happy and thankful. This procedure needs high level skill and only handful of doctors are trained in the city to do such complex procedures successfully like our faculty.
