Walkathon – A Doctor’s Day Initiative
As part of the Doctor’s Day celebrations, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital is organizing a Walkathon on 9th July 2026 with the theme “Fight Against Diabetes.” The initiative aims to promote awareness about diabetes prevention and encourage the adoption of healthier lifestyles through regular physical activity and informed healthcare practices.
The Walkathon is being organized under the guidance of Dr. A.C. Shanmugam, Founder Chancellor, Sri A.C.S. Arun Kumar, President, and Smt. Lalitha Lakshmi, Chairperson and in the presence of Dr. S. Vijayanand, Executive Director, Sri C.N Seetharam IAS (Retd.), CEO, Dr. B. Sathyamurthy, Dean, Dr. Naveen. S, Advisor, Dr. Basavaraj Bhandare, Principal and Dr. Praveen Kumar, Medical Superintendent.

The Walkathon will commence from Nagarbhavi, and will be attended by students, faculty, doctors, healthcare professionals, and staff. Participants will carry placards and banners highlighting the importance of diabetes awareness and preventive care.
Being held under the slogan “Small Steps, Big Difference in Diabetes Care,” we at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital invite everyone to participate in the Walkathon and promote community health and inspiring the public to take positive steps towards preventing diabetes.
