World Anaesthesia Day 2025
The Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care celebrated World Anaesthesia Day on November 7, 2025, at Kadamba Hall. This year’s theme, “Anaesthesiology in Health Emergencies,” highlighted the crucial role of anaesthesiologists in managing critical and emergency situations in healthcare.
As part of the celebration, a Quiz Competition (prelims and finals) was held on November 3, 2025, in the department seminar hall, drawing enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Karthik G. S., Professor and Head of the Department, followed by an introduction of the Chief Guest, Dr. Vinay Marulasiddappa from BMCRI. The programme began with an invocation song rendered by postgraduate students, setting a graceful tone for the event.
A highlight of the day was an inspirational talk by Dr. Vinay Marulasiddappa on “Anaesthesiology in Health Emergencies.” His address emphasized the evolving responsibilities of anaesthesiologists in disaster response and emergency care.
The programme also included the felicitation of quiz winners and presentation of the Best Outgoing Postgraduate Student Award. The celebration featured a variety of cultural performances, including a skit, reels with podcast, dance, and a lively round of Anthakshari, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of the department’s postgraduate students.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, followed by high tea, marking a successful and memorable celebration of World Anaesthesia Day 2025.
