World Health Day 2025 Celebration & Tuberculosis Awareness Program at Channasandra UHTC on April 7th, 2025
The Department of Community Medicine proudly organized the World Health Day 2025 Celebration and Tuberculosis Awareness Program on 7th April at 11:30 AM at the Channasandra Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC).
The event was spearheaded by a dedicated team of faculty members, including Dr. Shashikala Manjunatha (Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, RRMCH), Dr. Srividya (Professor), and Dr. Manasa A.R. (Assistant Professor), alongside the postgraduates of the Department of Community Medicine. The program also witnessed the valuable participation of Dr. Padma, Medical Officer, and the supportive staff of UHTC, Channasandra.
This year’s World Health Day theme, “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” resonated throughout the program, highlighting the importance of early health interventions and sustainable well-being.
The awareness sessions on health and tuberculosis were conducted by our enthusiastic 2nd-year MBBS students, who engaged the audience through interactive talks, informative charts and pictures, and role plays. These activities aimed to educate and inspire the community to adopt healthier lifestyles and understand the critical aspects of tuberculosis prevention and management.
The program saw the active participation of around 25 beneficiaries, who were provided with refreshments and transport arrangements facilitated by RRMCH. The event concluded successfully at 12:30 PM, leaving a positive impact on the attendees and reinforcing the importance of health awareness in the community.
World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 to highlight key global health issues. Organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), this day serves to encourage awareness, promote action, and advocate for solutions that improve health across the globe.
