World TB Day – 24th March 2021

Department of Pulmonary Medicine, RRMCH in association with Department of Community Medicine, RRMCH observed the “World TB Day” on 24th March 2021. The program was conducted at RRMCH Hospital Lobby from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon. The theme for this year is “The Clock is Ticking”, with this theme ‘Poster Competition’ was also conducted on 20th March 2021 for MBBS 3rd term Students. Totally 19 teams consisting 4 members in each team participated. The students participated with a great enthusiasm and winning team were cherished with prizes. All the participants were given the participation Certificates as well.
The members present in the program were Dr.Sathyamurthy, Dean, RRMCH, Dr.Praveen, Medical Superintendent, RRMCH, Dr.Pravin G U, Vice Principal, Dr.Archana, Prof & HOD, Dept of Pulmonary Medicine, Dr.Shashikala Manjunatha, Prof & HOD, Dept of Community Medicine, Dr.Tina, Sr.Resident, Dept of Pulmonary Medicine, RRMCH and Nodal Officer- National Tuberculosis Elimination Program and also all the staffs and Post Graduates from both Pulmonary Medicine and community Medicine.
Both Dept of Pulmonary Medicine in association with Dept of Community Medicine is having PPP (Public Private Partnership) with Bangalore Urban DTO(District TB Office) under National Tuberculosis Elimination Program.
The program continued with a couple of Role plays. One of the Role play was performed by DHI (Diploma in Health Inspector) students which was directed by Dr.Aishwarya S., Asst Prof, Dept of Community Medicine and the other one was performed by the Post Graduate students of Dept of Community Medicine. Both the plays were depicted to the Awareness of Tuberculosis detection and its treatment under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program.
The program was benefited and received well by all the patients, their attendees and also the staff/students.
The program concluded with a high tea and vote of thanks from Dr. Vivek G, Dept of Pulmonary Medicine, RRMCH.
