Anti-Ragging Week 2026

DAY 1 : #YaARI Youth Against Ragging
RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital marked Day 1 of Anti-Ragging Week 2026 on 28th August 2026 with two impactful student engagement activities aimed at strengthening awareness, encouraging dialogue, and promoting a safe and supportive campus environment.

Essay Writing Competition
Theme: “Mental Health and Ragging”
Around 30 students participated in the essay writing competition, expressing their understanding of ragging and its impact on mental health. The activity encouraged students to reflect on the importance of empathy, respect, and creating a campus free from ragging.

Debate Competition
Theme: “Social Media: A New Weapon of Ragging or a Powerful Tool to Fight It?”
Undergraduate, Intern, and Postgraduate students participated in the debate, presenting thoughtful perspectives on the role of social media in addressing, preventing, and potentially perpetuating ragging.

Debate Competition Winners :
First Prize: Sonu Gopikrishna — Final Year MBBS, 2024 Batch
Second Prize: Dr. Surekha Nagara — Postgraduate, Community Medicine

The events were conducted by Dr. Basavaraj Bhandare, Principal; Dr. Sangeetha, Professor; and Dr. Vidya G. S., Professor, whose presence encouraged students to actively engage in the anti-ragging initiative.
Through such activities, RRMCH continues to promote awareness, dignity, mutual respect, mental well-being, and a zero-tolerance approach towards ragging, contributing towards a safe and inclusive learning environment for every student.
Together, let us stand united against ragging and build a campus where every student feels safe, respected, and supported.
