BLS Workshop

Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care has organized a ‘BLS workshop’ for the teaching staff on Date : 06.02.2021 Time : 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Venue : Kadamba Hall (College Auditorium) ALL ARE CORDIALLY INVITED Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, RRMCH conducted “BASIC LIFE SUPPORT” a hands an workshop for teaching staff including Residents and Interns on 06/02/2021 in Kadamba Auditorium. The team was headed by Dr. Soumya M. J Professor of Anesthesia accompanied by Dr. Asha, Dr. Sameer and Dr. Chris Nishanth. The event was co-ordinate and arranged by Dr. Sahjananda, NABH coordinator. The programme started with introduction of the faculty and the hands on workshop. More than 110 participants attended the course and participated actively with an interactive question and answer session. Basic life support was demonstrated on advanced Ambu manikin trainer system. Dr. Renuka S Pai delivered a lecture on END OF LIFE CARE (EOLC) on 20.02.2021 in Kadamba Hall from 10 AM onwards. She dealt the subject giving all the details. EOLC is… NCI: “Care given to… • Near the end of life • stopped treatment to cure or control their disease • includes physical, psychological, social, and spiritual support for patients and their families • goals: control pain and other symptoms so the patient can be as comfortable as possible. • may include palliative care, supportive care, and hospice care” She stressed on objectives of EOLC. • Emphasis on quality-of-death as much as quality of life • Acknowledge that it is a human right to have a good, peaceful, and dignified death • Facilitate a “good death” for any person who is dying, irrespective of the situation, place, diagnosis, or duration of illness She also illustrated the EOLC with two case scenarios and also held discussions with doctors and nurses. It was attended by Consultants, Doctors, & nurses.
