Breastfeeding Week 2026 at RRMCH
DAY 1 – Inauguration
Breastfeeding Week 2026 was inaugurated at Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital with the theme “Breastfeeding for a sustainable start in life: strengthen what works.”
The event was graced by the presence of our Head of the Department of Pediatrics Dr. Rajanish K V , pediatrics staffs and senior faculty members from the Department of Nursing staffs all so by students and audience.
The program began with watering of plant , followed by emphasizing the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and the need for a consistent support system for mothers. This marked the beginning of a series of awareness activities and educational sessions aimed at promoting and protecting breastfeeding in both hospital and community settings
DAY 2 – Essay Program
On occasion of
Breastfeeding week day 2(August 3) activity was essay writing competition among postgraduate students ,Interns,Ug students based on the theme" Breastfeeding for a sustainable start in life :strengthen what works”. About 30 students participated, was judged by
Dr Kartik Prof,Dr.Nirmala Prof .This was held to assess the awareness among the students.
DAY 3 – Health Education For Postnatal Mothers with Posters Displayed
On occasion of
Breastfeeding week day 3 activity (4th August)postnatal Health Education For Postnatal Mothers with Posters Displayed was conducted
DAY 4 – PHC Visit Community visit at Chunchunkuppe
PHC Visit was collaborated with community medicine department from RRMCH and awareness was created regarding Breastfeeding and its importance to the mothers . Occasion was graced by
Dr.Sahana G ,Professor ,Dr.Arpitha & Postgraduates.
DAY 6 – PHC Visit Community visit at Kakaramanahalli
PHC Visit was done by staff and Postgraduates from RRMCH and awareness was created regarding Breastfeeding and its importance to the mothers. Occasion was graced by
Dr.Katik R ,Professor ,Dr.Arpitha & Postgraduate
DAY 7 – Awareness in Hospital Lobby
Day 7 (august 7)activity on occasion of World breastfeeding week celebration started with flash mob along with mime at hospital lobby followed by awareness talk by
Dr.Sathyamurthy ,Dean,
Dr.Praveenkumar Medical Superintendent and
Dr Rajanish K V , Professor and head of Pediatrics regarding breastfeeding and its importance to the crowd and followed by skit by nursing students.
Prizes were given to all the winners of various competitions and the programme was concluded by Vote of thanks.
